Online counselling across BC

A young woman with dark hair in a bun and wearing a black T-shirt is sitting on a beige couch near a large window, typing on a laptop. A glass of water is in the foreground.

Real support, wherever you happen to be.

Therapy doesn't have to mean sitting in traffic, finding childcare or squeezing another appointment into an already packed day.

Online counselling gives you the opportunity to work on your wellbeing from wherever you feel comfortable, whether that's your home, a quiet office or your favourite corner of the sofa.

I'm Samantha, a counsellor supporting women who look like they have it together on the outside but experience a lot of anxiety, overthinking or self-doubt underneath. Together, we can make sense of what's going on, understand the patterns keeping you stuck and work towards feeling more at ease with yourself and your life.

I offer online counselling to clients across British Columbia, with the same thoughtful, collaborative approach I'd bring to an in-person session.

you might be getting on with life. that doesn't mean it feels easy.

perhaps you're the person others rely on. You're thoughtful, capable and good at figuring things out. But internally, you can spend hours replaying conversations, anticipating problems or questioning whether you've made the right decision.

you might recognise yourself in some of these experiences:

  • overthinking and rumination: Replaying conversations, analysing situations and struggling to switch your mind off.

  • anxiety and panic: Feeling on edge, anticipating the worst or worrying about what your anxiety might mean.

  • OCD and intrusive thoughts: Getting caught in cycles of checking, reassurance-seeking or trying to feel certain.

  • self-doubt and perfectionism: Questioning your decisions, fearing mistakes or feeling you should be doing better.

  • people-pleasing and boundaries: Finding it difficult to say no, disappoint others or prioritise your own needs.

  • emotional overwhelm: Feeling frustrated with yourself for reacting strongly, shutting down or struggling to cope.

  • relationship patterns: Wanting closeness while finding vulnerability, conflict or uncertainty difficult to navigate.

you don't need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. You might simply be tired of spending so much energy managing your inner world and ready for things to feel different.

what if getting support could fit into your life, rather than take it over?

online therapy makes it easier to access support without adding an unnecessary journey to your week. It can be particularly helpful if you're balancing work, parenting, study or a calendar that already has very little breathing room.

with online counselling, you can:

  • access therapy from anywhere in BC, without needing to travel to Kelowna. Just make sure you’re in a safe and confidential space!

  • save time on commuting and make appointments easier to fit around your schedule.

  • attend sessions from a familiar, comfortable environment.

  • continue working towards your goals when life changes or travel makes in-person sessions difficult.

  • have a dedicated space to explore what's happening beneath the surface, even when the rest of life feels busy.

online therapy isn't about making the work less meaningful. It's about making support more accessible.

you might already understand your anxiety intellectually. You know that worrying doesn't solve everything, that perfection isn't possible and that you probably don't need to replay that conversation for the seventeenth time.

and yet, somehow, you find yourself doing it anyway.

that's because understanding a pattern and changing your relationship with it aren't always the same thing.

my approach combines curiosity, compassion and practical therapeutic tools. We'll explore what's contributing to your difficulties, understand the patterns you've developed and work towards changes that feel realistic in your everyday life.

depending on your needs and goals, our work may draw on:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

understand the patterns of worry, rumination, avoidance and self-criticism that can keep anxiety going, and develop more helpful ways of responding.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

when appropriate, EMDR may help you process distressing experiences that continue to affect how you feel in the present.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

explore different parts of yourself, including the inner critic, the people-pleaser or the part that always expects something to go wrong, with greater understanding and compassion.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

build practical skills for navigating intense emotions, tolerating distress, communicating your needs and responding more intentionally when things feel difficult.

we'll decide together what might be useful for you. You won't be handed a generic list of coping strategies and sent on your way. Therapy should make sense for the person you are and the life you're living.

thoughtful therapy, tailored to you.

what does online counselling actually look like?

online counselling takes place through a secure video platform, allowing us to meet face-to-face without being in the same room.

here's what you can generally expect:

1. join from a private space

you'll need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and somewhere you can speak comfortably and privately.

2. we'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy

your first sessions are an opportunity to understand what you're experiencing, what matters to you and what you'd like to change. You don't need to arrive with everything neatly organised.

3. we'll find a way forward together

sessions will be shaped around your goals, with space to explore your experiences, practise new skills and reflect on what's changing over time.

you can have a cup of tea beside you, bring your usual comforts and show up exactly as you are. There's no special version of yourself you need to prepare for therapy.

counselling for women across British Columbia

you don't need to live in Kelowna to work with me. Online counselling means you can access support from communities throughout BC, whether you're in a larger city or somewhere with fewer local therapy options.

I work with women who are navigating anxiety, OCD, intrusive thoughts, perfectionism, self-doubt and the emotional patterns that can make everyday life feel harder than it needs to.

online sessions may be a good fit if you:

  • live outside Kelowna or prefer not to travel to appointments.

  • have a busy schedule or caring responsibilities.

  • feel more comfortable opening up in your own environment.

  • want consistent access to support without the commute.

online counselling isn't the right fit for every situation, and we'll consider your needs, privacy and circumstances when deciding whether it's appropriate.
